Hello Church,
There seems to be so much going on in world right now. Hurricanes and earthquakes steal the stage from peace agreements, climate talks and health care reform. And if you are trying to follow the work of this President, both sides agree, it is a full time job.
If you are feeling worn out by the world’s news or your own life’s chaos, I hope you will take a moment, maybe even right now, and stop. Stop for long enough to take a deep breath or four and slowly let the air out. [Pause reading to breathe.] Hand over to God all that you cannot control and make a list of things God is calling you to do.
When this pause is hard to do alone, we gather for worship. Sunday we will celebrate the baptism of Ellise Butterbaugh, daughter of Jessy and Chris Butterbaugh. God will surely bless us with peace that we can carry into the world.
