Position Overview: Second First Church, Rockford, Illinois, is seeking a two caring, energetic individuals to be the primary teachers for our Children’s Sunday school classes. As a federation of two historic downtown churches (Second Congregational and First Presbyterian), we seek to be a welcoming, invigorating place to explore the heart of Christ and be sent out to serve the world. As Sunday School staff, you will be the lead teacher in one of two age groups for children: Pre K- Kindergarten or Elementary age. Working closely with our Family Ministry Coordinator (position also open) and our Director of Member Care and Neighborhood Connections, you will create and maintain a safe, inviting and dynamic atmosphere for learning and spiritual growth. Using the pre-selected curriculum, you will prepare the lessons for each week including materials for games and crafts. Classrooms need to be picked up at the end of class time.

Sunday mornings from 9:30am-11:00am (or when worship ends), most Sundays in the church academic year. Plus one hour of prep time per week allotted. Time-off arranged with advance notice. The pay rate is $12.00 per hour.
