Dear Church,

The news is not getting any better in terms of the spread of this virus. Our health care officials are begging everyone to stay home to avoid the transmission of this deadly disease. It is not time to panic. It is not time to be overwhelmed by fear. It is not time to be irrational (you don’t need extra toilet paper). But it is time to act. They have pulled the “fire alarm” of all public places and it is time that we exit cautiously and quickly to the safety of our homes. Together we will continue to choose faith over fear.

In order to encourage you to stay home and stay safe, the church building is now closed. Governing Council has voted that all meetings will take place via conference call or video chat as directed by the chair/leader until further notice. The only physical activity we will continue is prepping food in small groups for those who are hungry (Serious Soup and more?) We will still be answering the church phone, so please call anytime!

Event Updates: CALL IN NUMBER Dial 630-580-1541 then use Access Code 205053

Wednesday Lenten gathering will be a time of prayer on conference call (dial 630-580-1541 then access code 205053) at 6:30 p.m. A Space for Mindfulness and Meditation Thursday at 12:10 p.m. will be on the same line as will the Tuesday Men’s Prayer Breakfast.

Sunday Worship will continue to be on Facebook Live. We had over 50 families join us live and more than 400 views just a couple hours later. God is on the move! The service is also now on our website. We will add the audio to the conference call line above on Sunday as well for those without computers.

If you have new found free time, please pick up the phone and call your church family. Check in frequently with one another. That is the most important thing we can do right now. If you don’t have a church directory, please call the office and we will mail you one. Church, if you need anything, my cell phone is in the directory, as is Pastor Becky’s. Please reach out!

Together, let’s choose faith over fear.

Peace,

Rev. Rebecca White Newgren, Pastor and Jim Delmore, Moderator
