Summer months are the Haiti School Project for SecondFirst Church. Last year we sent $8,367 to Saut-d’Eau, Haiti for children’s education. Tuition for one year is $250 per child, which also includes books, backpacks, meals and uniforms. There is no free public school and the country faces shortages in educational supplies. We remember that beautiful Haiti is also the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with a literacy rate of 61% for males and 57% for females.
Last year our church assisted in sending 52 Haitian children to school and we hope that these students can return to school this fall with our support. Perhaps we can add additional students to our efforts! Our goal for Haiti Education this fall is $5,000.
