SecondFirst Church presents The Human Library via ZOOM on successive Friday nights this June.
The Human Library is an international organization and movement that first started in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2000. It aims to address people’s prejudices by helping them to talk to those they would not normally meet. The organization uses a library analogy of lending people rather than books.
The following Books have been scheduled:
June 5 – 7:00 Kathie: Alcoholism Stole My Father
June 12 – 7:00 Matt: My Life Being Trans
June 19 – 7:00 Jackie: Overcoming Homelessness
June 26 – 7:00 Freddy: My Life with Undocumented Parents
The sessions will run approximately 30 minutes including the opportunity to ask questions after the Books share their stories. You are invited to register by contacting Debbie or call the church office at 815-963-8431. The ZOOM link will be sent to the registrants.
