Four-and-a-half years ago, the death of Trayvon Martin reignited the desire for many Americans to engage in a national conversation on race. In 2014, Charles Blow of the New York Times said America ‘must have’ this conversation. The rise of violence against persons of color from Baltimore to Dallas to Chicago to Baton Rouge to Saint Paul to Milwaukee raises the critical question – is this a problem that a conversation can solve? How are people of faith to face this problem? How do we as a faith community tackle a national legacy of white supremacy while tirelessly embracing the kingdom of God? The questions persist, and while daunting in nature, deserve our attention and reflection. Join us this fall beginning September 14 for a six-part series as we cautiously and prudently address this topic and open ourselves to where God is calling us collectively and individually.
