Hello Church!

Want to support our online worship option!? Here is your opportunity!

VIDEO IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Goal: $25,000 (including a $5,000 gift to Pilgrim Park)
Dollar for dollar match from the First Presbyterian Endowment

As those of you who have been tuning in from home know, our current set up is untenable. We are running our impressive sound system into a cheap gaming device and crossing our fingers each week. It clicks, it pops and sometimes it doesn’t work at all, losing our online worshipping community. We can do better!

Our new streaming system will have a state-of-the-art video mixer that has 4 camera inputs. The unit is a suitcase style that allows it to be portable for outdoor use. For indoor use it will be in the balcony next to the sound system computer. When not in use, it can be locked away. There will be 3 cameras mounted strategically under the balcony. They will have full pan/tilt/zoom capability from the control console. There will be a 4th camera that is like the others, but is mounted on a tripod so it can be portable. We are also adding an 8-channel audio mixer that will be installed in the chancel/choir area. This will allow for multiple microphones and enable individual sound level setup. This video project will be done by the same company that installed our sound system in order to incorporate the video and sound as easily as possible. Once completed we will be able to put our live feed onto multiple platforms if we so choose (think Facebook and YouTube).

Covid-19 has changed our world, and we are all more digitally oriented. Our leadership team is committed to supporting an online worship experience for our members who choose to be at home for health reasons, those who travel or move away, and for new friends that we have yet to meet.

We want to take this opportunity to enhance not only our own worship experience but to show our continued commitment to the Cleveland Chapel at Pilgrim Park. Second Congregation raised the money and built the chapel in the 90’s in honor of beloved pastor Dr. Joe Cleveland. We will give $5,000 so they can upgrade their AV equipment and attend to some brick and mortar repairs.

Through the generosity of the First Presbyterian Endowment, your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $12,500. We hope to raise $12,500 by the end of August so that we can use our new system for Advent. May God bless our efforts and our worship.
